You may (or may not) have noticed that I’d disappeared off the face of my blog for a while. I have had a very busy few months planning quite a big job and house move. I will be going part-time so I have more time for crafting! It has been really stressful organising everything, finding somewhere to live etc so blogging has taken a back seat. BUT….I am keen to get started again (as soon as I’ve moved).
I’m currently packing up all my craft stuff and it’s made me realise just how much stuff I have that I’ve not really experimented with. I have rolls and rolls of wallpaper samples and wrapping paper and I haven’t really played enough yet with my Inktense sticks or my Gelatos. I also have LOADS of fabric samples. I also have some new fabric paints I want to try gelli printing with.
I’ve decided when I have moved and started unpacking I am going to attempt to use some of my papers and some of my new art materials and create something new. Are you also guilty of forgetting what you’ve got?
So I finally have Wi-Fi again! Wooohoooo! You never realise how much you rely on these things until you have to go without them.
I’ve decided that I need to go back to my hobbies in order to reduce my work stresses and I made a good start this morning.
I went to a local small town and I bought some Inktense blocks and some paints from the local craft shop (and the people were very lovely there!!) Then I popped into the local independent cafe and ended up having a chat with the owner about exhibiting a canvas there! I am brimming with ideas of what I’d like to do now!
So I’ve also been adding varnish to my latest upcycled table/Ikea hack. I will take some proper photos when it’s finished and put them up here.
I have done quite a few other little bits since I last properly posted (I’m always working on something I guess!) to I’ll have to have some proper photography taking at some point soon to bring my blog back to life!
I am also considering doing a printmaking and etching course. I am just a bit worried I wont have the strength to operate the machinery. I#d like to join a crafting group but I don’t really know where to find them!? Any one have any ideas on how to start?
Although I set this blog up to put my own work up, I thought it would be fun to share a few of the blogs I have found that I like. It can be a bit difficult to know what to search for to find new and inspiring arty/crafty blogs, so maybe other people could share their favourite blog? It doesn’t even have to be on WordPress! So have a nosy at the blogs I like and maybe tell me about one you like too!
