Hand-Carved Hot Air Balloon Stamp

Hand-Carved Hot Air Balloon Stamp

I fancied doing a little bit of stamp carving yesterday, as a break between job applications (although I probably ended up doing job applications between goes at stamping with it!) I was inspired by a tag that came with some wrapping paper I bought.

I repeated the process I used for the new home cards, stamping on different papers and cutting out the shapes to collage together. I also coloured some areas with Promarkers. The colours work well on bright white paper.

I then tried stamping onto brown paper, stamping patterns and colouring with Promarkers. Quite different, bit interesting I think.

Not sure what I’m going to do with all these balloons as yet, but fun to experiment.

  1. That is brilliant! a great idea too 🙂

  2. Your stamps are awesome! I’ve always wanted to carve some but I’m afraid I’ll carve my skin instead! Some of the tools are sharp lol. So, I’ve nominated you for the Liebster Award. Please check out the details here: http://craftmanicmommy.wordpress.com/2014/03/20/awarded-with-love/

  3. Thanks craftmanicmommy! The tools aren’t that sharp. You are more likely to slip and cut your stamp in the wrong place than cut yourself. I use the studenty type carving tool with the red handle and interchangable blades.

Thanks for nominating me too! I’ll put a post up when I’ve had time to answer the questions 🙂

  4. Love that little balloon stamp!
