I Found My Blitzer!

stencil plus blitzer

stencil plus blitzer colour restored

After seeing this post http://thefrugalcrafter.wordpress.com/2014/01/22/beautiful-cityscape-i-love-this-stamp/  by the Frugal Crafter and seeing the machine Tim Holtz and Stampin Up are peddling, I thought….I have one of them from when I was a kid, but it’s called a Blitzer. My Mum had saved it in a cupboard and it’s in good nick considering it’s 15-20 years old! I thought it would be perfect for stenciling as I have found it pretty difficult to get a crisp image all over the stencil! You add pens (I used Promarkers) and pump air through it and the ink kinda bursts onto the page. Some pens put splodges and some more find sprays of ink, fab for stencils though so I’m really chuffed!

The second image is just where I have added colour restoration when scanning it in. Interesting to see how the colours change!

    1. No problem 🙂 I’ve been experimenting with it and found that it works with some metalic pens I have and cheap versions of sharpies too. They do come out a bit spattery though whereas some of my Promarkers are more subtle…..hmmmm interesting!

  1. I’ve found mine too, one of the first tools I bought. I’ve been having a lot of fun with it. Tim Holtz has a hole in the bulb for more air intake. I was wondering if I should punch a hole in mine, what do you think? I’d hate to ruin it after all these years.

Hi. Can you please be more specific about the Promarkers? I find at least two brands that call themselves that. Also, any new discoveries. Thanks. I just found picked up one of these Blitzers at the thrift store. I was going to give it to my niece, but I think I’ll keep it. Thanks!

    1. Hi Cindy, sorry, I’ve been so busy the past few months. The Promarkers I have are Letraset ones.

I’m moving house next week and I fully intend to reawaken my blog (I’ll have an extra day a week to do crafting! Woohoo!)
